Do you like mermaids?
Do you believe in mermaids? Today is mermaid day. What do you know about them?
Did you know mermaids were beings with magical and prophetic powers.
Then there are sirens, who were originally half bird singers that became half fish singers that lured fishermen to the sea.
Many people in the Atlantic ocean still mention mermaid sightings.

What is a lemon shark? Is it a shark made of lemons? Or at least it's yellow like a lemon right? Wrong.
It has a yellowish brown to olive color and is easy to recognize by its fins. But this color is where it gets it's name from.
It's yellowish brown skin helps its camouflage in the sandy tropical waters they live in.
What is Gravity?
Gravity is the force that brings things towards it's center. Anything with mass (body\weight) has gravity/ The bigger it is, the more gravity it has on another object. Because the sun is so large, it's gravity keeps all the planets circling around it.
Gravity also keeps other thing sin place like the moons.

Is it your birthday? Part 1
April fools! Yesterday, I said we would start with Easter as our first topic but, per usual, we will start with your birthday!
Do you know the planet pluto? Well, techinically it's not a planet, Nasa rescinded it's title back in 2008...or 2006. But why did they say pluto wasn't a planet anymore?
In order to be a planet, it must 1. Orbit the sun.
2. Be massive enough to be round due to gravity.
and 3. Have cleared the neighborhood around it's orbit of other objects
Pluto didn't do number 3. It still has asteroids and rocks in it's orbiting path. Over time if it absorbs these rocks, maybe it will be a planet again.
As I said a few days prior, we live in the Milky Way Galaxy and orbit around the sun in it's solar system.
What is a galaxy? A galaxy is a huge collection of gas, dust, and billions of stars and their solar systems are all held together by gravity.
When you look up at stars in the night sky you see the stars in all of the Milky way galaxy. But in our solar system there is only one star, the sun.
There are many different galaxies in the universe, of different shapes as well.
