In Unit 10 of our lesson meant for our third-year junior high students, they learn about places, quests, and characters in fictional settings.

Places include: castle, woodland, secret lair, bell tower, prison, village, cliffs, and valley

Quests include: scout the countryside, buy supplies, hide from the _____, rescue the _____, meet the _____, find the _____, catch the _____, and plan the attack

Characters are: villain, spy, thief, detective, hero, heroine, magician, and hunter.

The students learn the sentences:
· Why did the character go to the place?
o He/She must have needed to quest.
· Why didn’t the character bring the character along, too?
o He/She may have wanted to quest.

They use the vocabulary learned to complete the sentences.

In Unit 10, our first year junior high school students discussed how they've changed since last year.
Some of the vocabulary they learned include: athletic (more athletic), artistic (more artistic) studious (more studious) confident (more confident)

Here is an example of the sentence structure:

How have you changed since last year?
I am more athletic than I was last year.

In Unit 10 of our 2nd year junior high school student's class we talk about the rules and regulations in school. Some of the vocabulary discussed in the unit are getting a perm, using a smartphone, wearing jewelry, eating snacks in class, growing your hair out, etc.

Challenge: Try answering this question!

"Is getting a perm allowed at your school?"
"Yes, it is ________. / _____ way! I would get in trouble!"

For our 4th to 6th grade elementary school students, this week, we learned about how to express feeling unwell.
Some of the vocabulary included: a cold, a stomachache, allergies, etc.

If someone asks, "What's wrong?" you can respond by telling them "I have a cold."

Also, when someone asks, "Do you have a headache?" you can respond with "Yes, I feel horrible." or "No, I feel fine."

Challenge: How about you? Do you have a fever?

小学校4～6年生の外国人会話クラスを受講されている生徒さんに感想を聞いてみました！

「先生が明るく、元気で楽しいです。」
「話せる英語がふえたし、いろんなゲームができて楽しい。むかしよりいろんなことばをおぼえれたのでいかしていきたい」

高学年クラスは話す文も難しくなりますが、アクティビティを通して体験的に学べるので楽しいと感じてくれています。

年中・年長さんクラスでも、毎回のレッスンでフォニックスの歌を歌います♪

"Let's eat cereal for breakfast."
"OK, that sounds good."

This week's lesson for P3 students focuses on making choices and suggestions on what to eat for breakfast.
It also teaches them the right way to respond. Cereals, eggs, pancakes and breakfast are some of the vocabulary words that our students learn from the lesson.
It is definitely one of the engaging lessons to teach to our students this week.

本日は中2文法を紹介いたします♪

今週の文法テーマは「分詞」です。
皆さんに質問！「眠っている赤ちゃん」を英語で何と言うか知ってますか？
分詞を使って表現でき、"a sleeping baby"と言います。

分詞には現在分詞、過去分詞の2種類があり、
知っていると長文読解が得意になったり、英作文にも使えます！
現在進行形や受動態との見分け方が難しいと言われる単元ですが、例文を使ってしっかり説明します。

また、アミティーの文法レッスンは毎回単語テスト（10個）があります。
単語を覚える週間が身につきます。

邦人教師の小学1～3年生クラスでは、今週、want to ～　「～したい」という表現を使って
自分のしたいことを言ったり、相手に何がしたいか聞いたりする練習をしています。

富山校の小学2年生のある生徒さんは、
昨年4月にレッスンが始まってすぐの頃は、
Game!「ゲーム（がしたい！）」 と単語で話していたところを、

Play game!

Play video games!

I want to play video games!

と、1年間で少しづつ、連語や文章で言えるようになってきました。

レッスン開始当初から、自分の言いたいことを失敗を恐れずどんどん話そう！伝えよう！とされる姿が印象的で、
英語の成果にも表れています♪

まずは単語でも大丈夫！単語がわからなくても大丈夫！
先生やクラスのお友達と一緒に少しずつ英語で言える表現を増やしていきましょう！
