Have you ever seen an igloo in an English school?
It is an interesting sight our students and families see every day in our school lobby!
As with real igloos, ours is built with teamwork and effort by our amazing students! The snowflakes that make up our igloo are marked with our students' names and the many homework books they have completed.
While our students are as unique as snowflakes themselves, they share a work ethic and passion for English that we proudly celebrate through displays like this!
We hope you come in from the cold, and see our igloo in person. Let's continue to build it together, book by book!
年明け最初のレッスンが今週よりスタートいたしました。
クリスマスやお年玉の話をしてくれる生徒さん、休みの間に訪れた場所などを一生懸命話してくれる生徒さん。
皆がそれぞれ良い年末年始を過ごされたようです。
長いクラスでは4週ぶりのレッスンという事もあり、今日の年少さんクラスでは普段決して泣くことのないお子様が
お母様と離れるときにさみしくて涙を流していたり、そうかと思えば友達や先生に会えるのを楽しみにしているあまり
朝から発熱をしてしまった生徒さんもいらっしゃいました。
お正月から地震や事故のニュース、さらには世界では胸の痛くなる出来事もありますが、
今年もアミティーでは子供たちに安心して英語を学べる環境を提供することに注力してまいります。

Can you guess the world's most popular New Year's resolutions?
In many cultures, the month of January is a time to set goals for the new calendar year. We call these special intentions "New Year's resolutions".
New Year's resolutions can be about anything. Maybe you want to travel more in 2024, or pluck up the courage to learn a new hobby. While anything goes, some resolutions are more common than others.
In England and the United States, improving fitness is the top resolution for 2024. Over in Australia, eating healthier is the most common Aussie aim. Meanwhile, saving money dominated the polls in Poland as citizens' number one goal.

Winter English Expressions
How are you doing this winter holiday?
Let's learn some winter English expressions we can use this season!
1. "Bundle up!"
This expression means you should dress warmly before heading outside.
Example: Bundle up for the ski trip, or else, you'll catch a cold.
2. "Dead of winter"
It is the darkest and coldest day of winter.
Example: I want to stay home and drink a hot chocho during the dead of winter.
3. "It's frigid and icy."
Frigid means a very cold temperature.
Example: I'm glad it is a beautiful day and not frigid and icy like yesterday.
I hope you use these expressions next time during our conversation class!
