The Melody of Memory part 1
In P3 classes I often sing the sentences to children.
This is because When we encourage children to *sing* sentences, we're tapping into a unique memory pathway.
The rhythm, melody, and repetition inherent in singing transform mundane phrases into engaging experiences.
This musical scaffolding provides multiple cues for the brain to latch onto, making it significantly easier for children to repeat new information and, more importantly, to remember it long-term.

Hot Weather Words & Phrases
When the temperature rises, so does our need for words to describe it! Here are some common and useful English words and phrases for talking about hot weather:
It's scorching! (Very, very hot)
It's boiling hot! (Another way to say extremely hot)
It's a heatwave. (A period of unusually hot weather)
It's sweltering. (Uncomfortably hot and humid)
I'm melting! (A common, informal way to express you're very hot)
The sun is beating down. (Describes intense sunshine)
It's humid. (Hot and sticky, with a lot of moisture in the air)
I'm sweating buckets! (An informal way to say you're sweating a lot)
In natural speech you'll hear these phrases in sentences like;
"Phew, it's absolutely scorching today! I feel like I'm melting."

Hello,
Of course these days everyone is talking about the hot weather and how difficult it is.
However, personally I love it.
After years of living way up north in Tohoku and Hokkaido and living through months of arctic weather each year, I never want to feel cold again.
As far as I'm concerned it can stay this way all year.
But then, unlike when I worked for J.A. I don't work outside anymore and our school is on the 3rd floor of well air conditioned supermarket.
I guess it's easy to like the summer!
In the next post, let's look at some popular hot weather expressions expressions.

H is showing great enthusiasm during our "This Old Man" sing-alongs.
Her recall of the repetitive phrases like "knick-knack paddy-whack" is excellent, and she's becoming more adept at anticipating the next action as we move through the numbers.
This song is particularly helpful for developing auditory memory and reinforcing the sequence of numbers up to ten.
While she sometimes needs a gentle prompt for the higher numbers, her overall engagement and enjoyment are evident.
H's ability to participate actively and remember the lyrics indicates she's really connecting with the song's structure and the numerical concepts it introduces.

"One, Two, Buckle My Shoe"
I've been observing K's participation during our singing of "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe," and I'm really pleased with her progress.
Initially, she was a bit shy, but now I consistently see her actively engaged.
She's starting to verbally count along with the first few numbers, and her finger actions are becoming more precise as we go through the motions of buckling and shutting.
This song is a fantastic tool for reinforcing early number recognition and one-to-one correspondence, and K is clearly benefiting.
Her growing confidence is wonderful to see, and it shows she's making good strides in developing foundational math readiness skills.
