English at Home!
Hello Everyone
I hope you`re ready for another amazing week!
Studying English can be quite difficult for most students. Especially since there are very few native English speakers around to practice with. One of the best ways of improving English is to use it at home! So let`s start with the basics.
Greetings: English greetings are quite simple to use. You can say hello, goodbye, good morning and good night to your family. Using a new language is more about getting used to hearing and using it than it is about sounding correct or making long sentences. The more you use it the easier it becomes!
Basic Vocabulary: Basic words can be used as questions or statements. For example; apple. If you want to offer someone an apple you could simply hold out the apple with your hand and say "Apple?". Other words can be used similarily where you do not need to make a sentence to ask a question or to make a statment.
Here is an example sentence using very basic English:
Parent: Good Morning!
Child: Good Morning!
Parent: Breakfast?
Child: Please.
Parent: Apple? Orange? Cereal?
Child: Cereal.
Parent: Ok!....Here(gives the cereal)
Child: Thank you.
Parent: You`re welcome.
I hope this helps you and your children with using English at home!
