Life at Amity

Hello. My name is Tom. I’ve been a member of the Kamikitazawa Amity team for 10 months. I came here to Tokyo about 6 months after I graduated college. Moving to Japan was the best decision I have ever made. Amity is an excellent company to work for.

The experience you receive working at Amity in Japan is one that you will never forget. Every day is full of excitement. Transitioning and adapting to life in Japan is a breeze. Amity provides an amazing amount of counseling and support to incoming teachers. The job itself is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. Once your students get to know you, they look forward to seeing you every day. The students come with bright smiles and an unbelievable eagerness to learn.

Kamikitazawa Amity is one of the best locations in the country. Kamikitazawa itself is quiet and peaceful, yet it is only a 15 minute train ride to Shinjuku where all the bright lights and excitement are! Shinjuku provides easy access to many different areas of Tokyo which makes it very easy to find new and exciting things to do every day.

Kamikitazawa Amity is a school dedicated to the education of our students in a friendly comfortable environment. Amity has provided on the job training that has helped me become completely comfortable in the classroom setting. Working for Amity is the best experience I have ever had.

Teaching at Kamikitazawa

Hello everyone!

My name is Jake, and I have been working for Amity for just under 3 months now and am enjoying the new textbooks and new students that the new school year has brought me. My manager and coworkers have really helped me adjust to working and living in Japan.

Kamikitazawa school is a wonderful school to work at. The students are bright, energetic and learn incredibly quickly.　The rate they improve and their positive attitudes make you take pride in your work, and in your students.　It has been so good working here I often find myself looking forward　to the weekend ending so I can come back to work!

The area around Kamikitazawa is calm and relaxing in the evenings, but it’s only a short train ride away from Shinjuku, one of the more exciting places to be in Tokyo. Other places, including a grocery store, video rental store and cafes, are within walking distance, making it very convenient when you want to stay close to home.
