America has many different Holidays but one that is coming up this month is Thanksgiving!
During Thankgiving many families in America get together and eat a lot of food! Some of my family's favorite foods are pecan pie, mashed potatoes, and green bean cassorole!
During my family's Thanksgiving I always made chocolate pecan pie! Here is the recipe I use!
3 eggs lightly beaten
1 cup light or dark corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1 9 inch unbaked pastry shell
In a large bowl, combine eggs, corn syrup, sugar, chocolate chips, butter and vanilla until well blended.
Stir in pecans.
Pour into pastry shell.
Bake at 350 degrees F for about 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
Allow it to cool for an hour before cutting.
This receipe is a little difficult but very delicious! I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Special English Sentences and Words
There are a few different kind of English sentences that are special!
One of these types of sentences is called pangram. This means that the sentences contains every single letter of the alphabet in it.
For example, "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." This sentence has all letters a-z!
Another special English word is called a palindrome. This is a word that is the same forwards and backwards.
For example, wow is the same foward and backwards. Racecar is also the same forwards and backwards!

Preparing for EIKEN JUNIOR
Many of our students are taking the EIKEN JUNIOR tests at the start of November. I'd like to offer a little advice for those wondering how best to prepare.
EIKEN BRONZE!
- This test is vocabulary based. It's best to focus on short simple sentences and try to recognize as much vocabulary as possible. For example, places, colors, food, animals, jobs, household items and hobbies.
EIKEN SILVER!
- This test includes more vocabulary, and also has more conversation based questions. Students should be able to understand simple question answer structures. Students will also need to know first letter phonics for this test.
EIKEN GOLD!
- This test has even more conversation based learning. Students will do well to understand a range of everyday conversations, greetings and questions. Part of this test also has some simple voacbulary reading questions. Students who practice reading will have an advantage on this test.

Be sure to practice using a pencil and eraser well and look over the EIKEN JUNIOR website before taking the test.

本日は、年中・年長さんにお家で取り組んでいただきたい、プレフォニックスシリーズをご紹介します♪
プレフォニックスとは、 フォニックス学習で本格的に読み書きを学習するための準備として、音と文字の結びつきに慣れる学習のことです。
