Let's do our best to work on Self Study books this year!
Most of our students got their new self study books. Some even started working on them last week! I was very happy to start checking your works especially those who even did extra pages. You are all very fantastic. If you keep on working on them consistently every week, not only you will improve your writing, but your reading skills, as well. We highly encourage everyone to keep doing them. If you finish one, make sure to ask your teacher for a photo so you can be included in our monthly poster. You can help encourage other students to work on theirs!

At Amity, we encourage our younger kids to start learning Phonics as early as possible. Students at Amity learn Phonics as early as 3 years old. As a teacher, I highly encourage this because the earlier you learn basic phonics, the easier it will be for you to learn to read later on! Being able to read can help you a lot to improve your English skills in general. At home, make sure to spend some extra time to work your Phonics. Using Phonics 1 from the Amity Book Fair is a good way to start!

I was talking to my students this week about the G7 Summit. Most of you don't have to go to school during the summit. It's like a mini vacation! I am jealous. What do you want to do at home? I hope you take this time not just to work on your school homework, but to also study a bit of English. And most importantly, to relax and have fun even if you're only staying home. Have a great mini vacation!

To our students, we are so happy to hear about your Golden Week activities. I enjoyed hearing you speak about your experiences in English. Probably, my favorite one is about a student of mine who ate at a buffet restaurant in the G7 Summit hotel. He showed me pictures of the sweets he ate. I have a sweet tooth so I was so jealous about it! I definitely would want to go to that buffet restaurant. Some of my students went to different prefectures. It's nice to hear stories about people travelling again. Thank you for sharing your stories!
