My baby lesson student is growing up so quickly and it is wonderful to watch her English develop.
In one of our lessons she turned to the page in her story book about phonecalls and gestured for me to give her toy phones to play with. Then she pressed the buttons to dial a number while making "beep" and "boop" sounds. When I 'answered' the call, she said "Hello", "Blue", "Goodbye", and "See you" so clearly. Her pronunciation was unbelievable! I was also amazed that she remembered which page of her storybook was about talking on the phone.
I really hope she continues to enjoy speaking in English!

During summer vacation, many students took space seminars with me. We learnt space related vocabulary, played games and made space rockets. It was so much fun!
All my students did really well , but there were 2 students who were truly exceptional.
Firstly, a young student who did not know the names of the planets in Japanese was able to remember the names in English. During the lesson he had fun playing games while learning the names, and when we showed his mom what he had learnt, she was so surprised because he had not learnt the Japanese names yet, but he learnt the English names easily. I was so proud of him!
Secondly, a 2nd grade elementary school student who really loves space, blew me away with his knowledge. He already knew the names of the planets in English, and he was able to tell me some facts about each one. When he was talking about space, his vocabulary really impressed me. He knew so many words that we didn't study in class. That really proves if you enjoy a subject, you will learn about it much easier. I was amazed by his knowledge and enthusiasm.
I hope my students enjoyed the summer seminars as much as I did.

What are your hobbies and interests?
Hello everyone!
Many of my students have cool hobbies and interests. The other day, a student was telling me about his interest in camping.
Another student told me that she plays the piano for a hobby.
Try asking someone about their hobbies and interests like this:
A: "What are your hobbies/interests?"
B: "My hobbies are baking, taking photographs, and reading! My main interests are trains, history, and mushrooms."
I love to hear about my student's hobbies and interests!

Tell me your favourite car!
One of my kindergarden students surprised me recently.
He loves cars and was playing with them in the lobby. I pointed and asked "What's this one?" and to my surprise he said "lamborghini".
I asked "what is the red one?" and he said "ferrari".
It's great when students can tell me about their interests

My favourite is probably a Mini Cooper.

夏休みセミナーでそれぞれ英検の勉強をしているMくんとNちゃん。単語の意味を確認したときに、「去年のインタでやったから」「会話のレッスンで聞いたことがあるから」覚えている単語がちらほら。2人とも記憶力には自信があるようで、めきめきと語彙力をつけていってますね。一発合格できるように一緒に頑張りましょう！

年少クラスのRくんとMちゃんは、とても意識が高いです！ものの数を声に出して数えているときに、Mちゃんが日本語で「1, 2...」と数えると、Rくんはぎょっとして「英語だよ！」とつついていました。そして二人で "One, two..." とそろって数えてくれました。教室の中では英語を使う、という意識が高くで素晴らしいです！これからも色々な英語を発話できるように頑張ろうね♪

What would you do with 1,000,000円?
My high school students ask each other questions at the beginning of every class. This usually starts some really funny discussions. Recently, one of my students asked her classmates "What would you do with 1,000,000円?". Some students said that they would spend it on a new house, video games and new clothes. However, most students said that they would only spend a little and save the rest of the money. I was surprised at how mature they were. Most teenagers would not think about the future, but my students were very responsible. I was really impressed with their answers!

I have a baby student who I have been teaching for almost a year. I can't believe how quickly she is growing and how well she is starting to learn English. She is starting to say some colors and make some animal sounds. It is very cute. Recently, she drew a nice circle in her activity book. I was impressed and I said "Perfect!". She copied me, and said "Perfect" too! Her mom and I were so surprised! I was amazed that such a young child was able to repeat English so well. I hope that she continues to have fun while learning English.
