A while ago my high school students were talking about experiences they have or have not had.
One of my students asked the other:
"have you ever seen a ghost?"
To which the other replied:
"I have never seen a ghost, and I don't want to!"

Last week, I had 2 new baby students join my class. Even though they were a little shy at first, they quickly picked up a few English words. I am always impressed by how quickly my baby students start speaking English. So, I decided to do some research to find out why babies are able to remember words and speak English so much easier than adults.
I found that young brains make new connections at a faster pace, which makes learning new languages easier. As our brains develop, we reinforce the connections that are regularly used. This is why babies who learn a language at a very young age have the accent of a native speaker. As adults, our already formed connections force us use the sounds and of languages we already know. I found this very interesting.
I hope my babies keep speaking excellent English!

Many of my students were really happy to receive money from their parents and reletives on New Year's Day. When I asked my junior high school and high school students how they would use the money, one student said that the best way to spend the money was at the arcade with his friends. He said it is the most fun way to use his money. I thought his answer was funny, and typical for a teenager. However, i was surprised when most of my students said that they would save the money for their future. I was really impressed by their answers.

オールイングリッシュの会話のレッスンでは、生徒同士でももちろん英語でコミュニケーションをとります。幼稚園クラスでは最近、ものを渡すとき何も言わずとも"Here you are." "Thank you."と自然に言えるようになりました。おうちでも使ってくれていると嬉しいです！

How did you spend your vacation?
This week, my older elementary school students are learning "How did you spend your vacation?" Many students answered that they spent their vacations traveling, doing school work, and staying at their grandparents house. One of my students said that she practiced English during her vacation. I was really happy that she enjoys practicing English.
