Hello Mito Amity students and families! ✧。٩(ˊᗜˋ )。*✧
How is everyone doing now that September is underway? The first week back can sometimes feel a
little tiring. Waking up early, going to school, doing homework, and remembering everything you
need to bring can take some time after a long vacation.
So this week's phrase is one that I think many of us can use:
“I’m getting used to it.”
We use this when something feels difficult at first, but we are slowly becoming comfortable with it.
For example, you might say,
“I’m getting used to my new class.” You could also say,
“I’m getting
used to waking up early again.” And if you're still tired every morning, don't worry. You can also say,
“I'm still getting used to it!” We understand.
Learning English works in much the same way. A new word might feel strange today, but after hearing
it several times, it starts to feel familiar. Then one day, you use it without even thinking about it.
Students, don't worry if English doesn't feel easy immediately. Keep hearing it, keep using it, and
give yourself time. Parents, a little encouragement goes a long way. Saying
“You're getting better!”
or simply listening to your child speak can help them feel proud of their progress.
Amity Mito Weekly Thought:
Let's Try This Together at home this week, ask someone:
“Are you getting used to September?”
You may get some interesting answers! Tell your Amity teacher about it in English. Or ask us about a
word you want to learn. A little courage, a little curiosity, and maybe... a little sticker.
Keep going, everyone. We are getting back into the rhythm together!
Sincerely,
Your English Teachers at Mito Amity\(^▽^)/
