reap what you sow

It means to experience the results, either positive or negative, of your own actions.

A: I heard you will be promoted at work next month. Congratulations!
B: Thank you. I couldn't believe it myself.
A: With all the hard work you've done, of course. You're finally reaping what you sow.

In this conversation, speaker A is congratulating speaker B for his/her promotion. Speaker B is a hardworking employee (sow), so he/she will be promoted (reap).

Numbers are adjectives, too. They tell you how many people, animals, or things there are. Sometimes they are called adjectives of quantity.

Examples:
one giant
seventeen kittens
five pencils

Other adjectives tell you something about quantity without giving you the exact number. They are also called quantifying determiners.

Examples:
a few sandwiches
some milk
too much sugar
