🤓 Grammar Bits: Present Perfect Tense
Use the present perfect tense to talk about happenings in the past that explain or affect the present. The verbs have and has are used as “helping” or auxiliary verbs to form the present perfect tense.
To form the present perfect tense join have or has to the past participle of the verb:
have + past participle
has + past participle
Examples:
Uncle Tom has lost his wallet.
John has gone out.
They have opened a new shop.
Fill in the blanks with the present perfect tense of the verbs in parentheses.
1. Dad ______________ his car key. (lose)
2. All the guests ______________. (arrive)
3. Tony ______________ a goal. (score)

Z.
When do you use a capital letter?
- for the first letter in a sentence (The baby is eating.)
- for the word "I" (Next year, I will go to Osaka.)
- for the names of people (Akiko, Ken, Stefan, Nicholas)
- for the names of places (America, Japan, National Museum)
- for festivals, holidays, days of the week, months of the year (Children's Day, Golden Week, Monday, February)
