Hello everyone!

We would like to tell you about Amity`s Head Start: DASH book.

This book is used by elementary school students; 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. It is used as a review practice of words and sentences students learned from the practical lesson. They write, trace, and read the sentences. They also have to fill in the missing words to complete the dialogues.

For example, in Unit 1 Lesson 1.
What do you do in the morning?
I ________ the dog.

Answer: I feed the dog.

Let`s have fun writing in English!

Let us talk about our P3 SEESAW workbook. This study material helps our (P3) students develop their vocabulary, reading and writing skills.

英語を学習する上で、とても大切なのは「フォニックス」の力ですが、
フォニックスとは何でしょうか？

自然と覚えてきた、dog, make, phoneなどのスペルにはそれぞれ、
種類の違うフォニックスのルールが隠れています☆

例えば"dog"ですが、アルファベットのディー・オー・ジーから成り立っています。
しかし、英単語の読み方は「ディー・オー・ジー」ではない理由がフォニックスにあるんです！

D=ドゥ、O＝オ、G＝グ

このように、アルファベットの読み方とは別の読み方が英語にはあり、
その学習をすることをフォニックス学習と言い、アミティーでは毎回のレッスンでこの学習を取り入れていますます☀

それぞれのアルファベットの別の読み方を学習することで、発音がよくなったり、
初めて見る単語でも、それがどのような発音をするのかを推測し、当てることができたり、

We would like to tell you about Phonics drill books. These books help students learn the relationship between the letters and sounds.
PHONICS 1 introduces uppercase and lowercase letters. They learn the basic sounds that match each letter from A to Z.
PHONICS 2 introduces the Magic letter ‘E’ (hop →hope) and consonant blends, like / ch/, /sh/, /wh/, /th/ and so on.

With Amity Phonics 1+ and Phonics 2+, students can review the content learned in amity PHONCS 1 and PHONICS 2.
The activities in the book are more fun. The words are appropriate for their age and experience.

One of our self-help study materials are our Drill Books. They are divided into grades. Each grade gets six books that into one of three titles – Hop, Step, Jump.
In our drill books for first graders, they are introduced to capital letters. Children will practice writing the capital letters before being introduced to lower case letters. They will also practice those. Eventually, they will be asked to write words that include both big and small letters. They will then be taught about words in English that need to be capitalized like days, names, and countries.
Our second graders will continue to study the letters in various activities – such as matching, filling in the missing letters, choosing the correct spelling of a word, as well as writing the words a lot of times to practice.
Lastly, our third graders are introduced to a lot of words divided into categories – for example, colors, numbers, animals, verbs, etc. They will then start practicing writing phrases before being asked to make a phrase that matches a picture shown in the book. They will also be asked to translate from Japanese into English. The books will then move on to the kids spelling, writing sentences and answering questions.
