This week we are continuing to practice some animals in our pre-romper classes. When one of the students saw a pig on the board, they said "Oink oink." This is the sound that pigs make in English. Hello! In our P3 course class, we practiced using the pronouns HE, SHE, and THEY.
The pronouns HE (for a boy) and SHE (for a girl) take the be-verb IS. For example in class, we practiced saying "He is eating", or "She is dancing".
The pronoun THEY (for 2 or more people), takes the be-verb ARE. For example, we practiced saying "They are playing".
It takes some time to get used to saying these sentences in English, so please make sure to practice with your kids at home, too! Have fun learning English!

Yesterday, a student asked me "What do you usually do in the morning?" in perfect English! I was very impressed that this student could remember a language pattern from last month, AND they said it without errors. The Amity Box app is a great way to preview and review lessons each week. This student often uses it, and I can tell.

This week in our pre-romper class, we are learning some zoo animals. One animal all the students like is the alligator. They like to use their arms to chomp like the alligator does. One student even started to chomp his mother`s head! Oh no! The mother thought it was really fun, and so did I.

レギュラーコースUnit2では、いろいろな国の名前を使って「～の出身です」などの表現を学んでいます。これまでAmericaと言っていたのを The United States という呼び方で練習したり、日本語とは違う発音の国名をがんばって覚えています。ドイツはGermany、スイスはSwitzerlandって知っていましたか？ (Y)
Last Sunday, one our students had a seminar about Pikmin! She loves playing the game so we tried to learn English using it! We made a little book about all the pikmin characters and what they can do. For example, we wrote: "This is Winged Pikmin(羽ピクミン). It can fly." "This is Purple Pikmin (紫ピクミン). It is very strong". My student did a fantastic job at practicing reading and writing about the characters.
