When you look at animals and see that some have claws while other do not. Some animals have hard shells while others do not. Some can fly or run fast, some can even change the color of their skin. These are called natural defence and its how the animals in our nature protect themselves. Humans on the other hand do not have claws or wings or shells but we are very smart and can create things to protect ourselves with.

Scenario: Why is Matt looking for racoon-dogs in the middle of the city? He knows he is never going to find any. He likes going on "wild goose chases", it keeps his mind occupied instead of worrying about his baseball team and if they will win or not. Oh, I see. It's probably best that we leave him alone.

I like using this phrase when I hear people complain about others. I say to them "different strokes for different folks". This phrase explains that everyone is different and likes or dislikes different things. That it is ok for a person to like something but for the other to not.

The meaning: Negative, meaning to ignore someone.
Explanation: Why is Mary giving me the cold shoulder? What did I do wrong? I think you forgot to mention happy birthday to her last weekend. Everyone was at her party except you. Oh no! I totally forgot! I will go apologize right now! Yes, you should.
