What is Guy Fawkes Night?🎆
This Sunday, I will be watching a firework festival in Nagano, so I'd like to talk about UK's firework festivals!
In UK we have two days British people light fireworks, one is on New Years Day and another is a day called Guy Fawkes Night.
On November 5th 1605, a man named Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the House of Parliament with lots of gunpowder in an underneath cellar but failed.
The day is celebrated as his attempt was failed and King James I said that on this day people will celebrate him being safe with bonfires and fireworks.
Even now, many people in Britain will buy fireworks to light up in their gardens on November 5th with their families as its become a standard celebration for all British citizens. I had lots of pleasant memories when I was younger, gathering as a family and shooting fireworks together with my dad!
Do you enjoy fireworks in Japan? What is the best firework festival in your opinion?

A Birthday Adventure!
Hello everyone! Today is my birthday!
I want to share some fun birthday facts from around the world.
Did you know that in many parts of the world, many people smash birthday cakes into the birthday person's face?
Sounds a bit extreme but its a really fun concept. While in Mexico, many children celebrate their birthdays by hitting a pinata full of candy.
Would you like to experience these?
Now, its your turn! Draw or write about your favourite birthday memory or how you'd like to celebrate your next birthday.
I will share some on the blog next week!

☕British English ☕
Let's learn about British English!
Similar to Japanese culture, UK is very famous for its tea, but did you know the word "tea" has numerous meanings in UK? In the South of England, "tea" will be a drink similar to the rest of the world. however in the North of England, "tea" means dinner! ☕🍴
A common phrase in England will be "Care for some tea now?" Which would either mean "Would you like some tea now?" or "Would you like dinner now?" depending on where in England you would live, all of which can be very confusing!😕
There are many differences in Northern Accents and Southern Accents, pronunciations, vocabulary, it almost feels like another language!
🎬 Have you ever watched a British TV show or movie and noticed different words or slang?
