    Yuki Takatsugi
Yuki Takatsugi recently passed Eiken Pre-1st last October and has earned the honor of being featured in this paper as an inspiration to other students. After living in China and Cuba for several years, Yuki returned to Japan in 2018 and has been part of Amity since. He's been taking two classes a week (sometimes three) to keep what English he's learnt during his time away from Japan. It's not that easy, though. Learning a second language takes dedication, hard work and patience, and Yuki has shown us all of these qualities by successfully passing two Eiken tests in one year (Eiken 2 and pre-1). However, working hard requires playing hard, too. Every day Yuki hones his Pen Spinning skills and crushes opponents at Duel Masters when he can. Keep it up Yuki! I am proud of you!
  • Akari Noda

    Akari Noda
Akari is a fantastic student. She is by far the most advanced 1st grade student I have ever taught. Akari recently passed Eiken 4 with a nearly perfect score. She always impresses me with her incredible speaking skills. She loves to tell me about astronomy, her life, family and her grandma's dog Potato. She makes many comments about the new material we go over in class and it often leads to good discussions. Akari is also a great reader. Every week for homework she picks a book to read to me or prepares a reading for class. I am always so amazed not only by how clearly she reads, but also how she really understands and is able to answer questions about it. Akari is doing so great and I am very glad that I have the opportunity to teach her.
