初めての英検に向けて夏セミナーでお勉強を始めたHくん。この1年でめきめきとつけた読みの力で、難しいと言いながらもつかみはばっちりでしたね。単語帳をおうちでもしっかりと読んで、この夏は語彙力も上げていきましょう！

小学校5年生のMちゃんが夏休みが始まって早々、もうこの宿題たちが終わった！と報告しに来ました。普段は忙しくて中々進めることが難しかったアミティーの宿題も、時間に余裕がある夏休みに沢山やると約束してくれました！来週どのくらいできたか見るのが楽しみです♪

Did you know that August 1 is Spider-man day? August 1 1962 was the first time Spider-man appeared in a comic book. Spider-man is my favorite superhero. He is smart, funny and kind. I would like to have his powers.
My students like many anime heroes. The most popular super power that my students would like is the ability to be extremely intelligent.

Most students started their summer vacations last week.

Summer is my favorite season. Even though it is very hot, there are many ways to keep cool and enjoy yourself. During summer vacation, I like to go to the beach, hang out with friends and eat alot of ice cream. I recently tried shaved ice in Japan. It was delicious and refreshing.

Do you know what onomatopoeia is?

Onomatopoeia is a word that sounds like the thing it describes.
Here are some of my favourite onomatopoeia words:

Bang! 💣💥 (Used to describe explosions)

Pitter-patter. 🌧☔️ (Used to describe the sound of rain or small children running)

Bling! ✨💎🌟 (Used to describe light or shiny things)

Clickety-clack. 🚂🚋 (Used to describe the sound of old trains)

小学校1年生の仲良し3人組は、この夏もインタラクティブセミナーに来てくれています。先日1回目のレッスンだったのですが、みんな慣れた様子で取り組む姿に驚きました。1年生になり、少し難しいアクティビティーを進めていますが、真剣にパソコンに向き合い、クリアしていましたね。今回も様々なことを吸収できるのを楽しみにしています！

英語が大好きな年少さんのRくんは、レッスンの中でこれは英語でなんて言うの？とよく聞いてくれていたのですが、先日から日本語ではなく英語で"What's this?"と聞けるようになりました！言い方がわかると、嬉しそうにリピートしてくれて、先生も嬉しいです♪

2歳児さんになると、何に対しても「やだ」と、ママやパパが困っている風景をよく見かけます。しかしそれもひとつの成長です。
アミティーでも「やだ、やらない」はよく見る光景です。でも、ベビーちゃんたちは先生の発話を聞いたり、ｉLessonの画像を観て、レッスンを通して様々なことを学び、英語を身につけています。
「レッスン中は先生のあとにリピ－トすらしなかったのに、家に帰ったら、絵本のペ－ジを開いて先生のマネをしていた」
「お風呂の中で突然英語でカウントし始めた」
「レッスンで習った英語の歌を歌っていた」
というお話はよく聞きますが、イヤイヤ期がひどいからと英語学習をギブアップしたという話はあまり聞きません。みんな乗り越えてます！
ちなみに、世界でもイヤイヤ期はあり、英語では「Terrible two」なんて言います。
絶賛イヤイヤ期のベビーちゃん、ぜひアミティーで先生たちと楽しく英語を学んでみましょう！イヤイヤ期のベビーちゃんも大好きなスタッフがお待ちしています💛

Recently my junior high school students have been learning about interesting hobbies such as painting model figures and playing electric guitar. Many of my students like drawing and playing sports in their free time.

One student brought his model trains to Amity to show the teachers. He has an impressive collection. The trains are beautiful and have intricate details. He was able to talk about the diffrent trains in English and I was amazed at how much he knew about them.

In my free time, I like building things with Lego and reading. How about you? What are your hobbies?
