On this day in 1994, Aerosmith became the first major band to let fans download a full new track free from the internet. Wow! That seems so long ago that it is trivial, but it isn't. Back then, some people did not even know what they internet was, let alone use it to get music and mail. Now, it is part of our everyday life. Can you imagine life with no internet? Some people can't. What about you?

コミュニケーションの第一ステップは、あいさつ表現ですよね！
英語でのあいさつ、いくつ思いつきますか？
おそらく、大半の方がまず頭に浮かべた表現は「Hello！」だと思います。
でもこの「Hello！」というあいさつは、日本人が思っているよりフォーマルだと知っていましたか？
初対面や敬語を使うような間柄では自然なのですが、お友達同士で使うとすこし違和感がある表現です。
アミティーに来た時、先生に対して「Hello！」というのは自然ですが、お友達には「Hi！」などの表現も使ってみてください。
（たまに外国人の先生が皆さんに「Hi！」と言っていることもあるので、意識してみてくださいね）

That's right! It's that time again!
This week's idiom is (Don't cry over spilt milk)!
The meaning: Do not cry about something you cannot change. Clean it up and move on.
For example:
a) Oh no, I forgot to press the button on the rice cooker! Now, we don't have rice to eat for dinner! What am I going to do! This is terrible. "Don't cry over spilt milk" father said, press the button, and lets wait 45 minutes. We can just have fruit first if your starving. It's going to be okay.

On this day on June 13th, 1373 Anglo-Portuguese Treaty of Perpetual Alliance (world's oldest still in existence) signed in London between King Edward III of England and King Ferdinand I of Portugal.
Also on this day in 1866, the U.S. House of representatives passes 14th Amendment (Civil rights)! One of the most important document in U.S. history, granting equal protection under the law to all citizens born or naturalized within the United States.
