This very known verse of a holiday song actually doesn't just apply when it snows, it also applies when there are a lot of fireworks display outside 🎇, houses blasting music 🎼, cars ringing their alarms 🚨 , and people blowing their New Year's trumpets/horns 🎺. That is what New Years in Philippines is like.

In my country, it is a tradition that we welcome the new year with excitement, fun, and love. We are very superstitious, we believe that the more we express positivity in welcoming the new year, the more life doubles the positive energy and blessings back for that year. I believe some other countries practice it too. We also have this silly thing we do, when the clock hits midnight, we jump so many times believing we'll grow taller. Ah, to be a Pinoy. 🤣❤️

Aside from making the neighborhood wide awake from all the sounds we make, we also prepare a lot of food on the table. Well, food is like a universal language, it's not a celebration without one, everyone knows that. 👀

It might be a very loud New Year in the Philippines, like it's frightful, but it's something I'll definitely miss each year because the fun and love you share with your family is oh so delightful. 🫂❤️‍🔥
