Today is a holiday in Japan!
I am sure you are all out with your family or simply enjoying a relaxed day at home.
Marine Day in Japan is celebrated every 3rd Monday of July.
This holiday is to remember the importance of the marine life and to give thanks to all the blessings the ocean is giving us. It is often a great 3-day holiday for families to go to the beach and hang out.
Make sure to put on some sunblock and keep hydrated!
Holiday English Expressions!
Summer Holidays are here! Some of you will travel overseas and will be using your English skills
soon! Here are some Holiday English Expressions and Idioms that you can use during your trip.
1. Feel the Heat!
Use this to express how hot the weather is.
Example: I can feel the heat of the sun while we're walking outside.
2. A cold day in July!
It means something that will never happen.
Example: It'll be a cold day in July before I eat that horrible dish you cooked.
3. A quick dip!
This expression is something you say if you are feeling hot and you need to swim to refresh.
Example: I'm thinking of going for a quick dip before lunch time.

夏に集中的に英語学習をしませんか?
夏の短期コース、8月・9月本格スタートも受付中です!
If our kids already know all the sounds and names of the alphabet, READING words is the next step!
Join us in our Reading and Phonics Seminar.
They will learn how to identify the beginning, middle and end sounds of a word.
Advance students can also start reading words with letter blends and more syllables.
We will make it into a book that you can bring home to practice reading at home.
Here is one of the Phonics Craft books we are offering here at Hachioji Amity.
You can learn new vocabulary words and make sentences using these new words.
Trace and color!
Then, we can do a pop-up craft based on the words we learned.
Let's complete the letters from A to Z!
It'll be fun to learn and do crafts together. You can show it around to your friends too!
Have you heard of the the English expression, "Having the Monday Blues" ?
"Having the Monday Blues" is an expression that means feeling LOW at the beginning of the week.
You can use it when you don't want to go to work on a Monday because you want more rest days.
You can also use this expression when you don't like to go to school on a Monday because you dread the homework
and school work you'll face the whole week.
We all have experienced having Monday blues at one point. I know it's hard to push yourself to study mode but
just always think that the end of the week will eventually come.
TGIF which means, Thank God it's Friday!
We are so happy and thankful to everyone who participated in our Parents Observation Weeks.
I know it was a great experience to see our students doing great in class. Thank you dear parents
for playing games and doing drills with your children. It was amazing for us to hear you all speak in
English with your kids. And we can see in the students' faces that they were really proud and having fun!
We would love to hear your comments and feedbacks about the classes of your kids. Kindly email us about
your insights and suggestions! It would be a great help for all of us to improve and be better teachers
to your children.
Again, thank you very much everyone!
