What's your summer holiday plans?
Having small talks with your friends can always be fun. It is a great way to be more connected and to get to know them better.
These are some questions you can ask them especially during this summer season.
1. How's your summer holidays going?
We ask this question if we want to know if they are having a great time this summer.
Response: "It's going great! How about yours?" OR "It's actually going pretty bad. I'm always sick these days."
2. Where did you buy that summer hat from?
This is always a good way to start a conversation. It shows you're interested and it will give you an idea where to shop! :)
Response: "Oh, I bought it from Octore. Do you like it?" OR "I can't remember anymore. Maybe in China when I visited two years ago."
3. What are you doing this summer?
We ask this questions to find common hobbies or activities with your friend. This can also start conversations that can help
you find things to do together.
Response: I'm going to the beach in Ibaraki. How about you?

We just want to remind you that we do not have our regualar classes from July 28 until August 3.
This is when we have Summer Seminars and make- up classes.
Please use this time to let our students watch past lesson videos and do their homework and finish more
pages from their drill books.
If you are interested in taking extra lessons during this week, we still have few slots left. Kindly let us
know when you are available.
We will resume our regular classes on August 4th.

Useful Phrases this Summer!
Can you feel the heat? It's getting hotter and hotter each day.
Let me list down some useful phrases you can tell your friends this summer.
1. Stay hydrated!
This means don't forget to drink your water!
EXAMPLE: Don't forget to stay hydrated when you leave the house during summer days.
2. Soak up the sun!
To spend more time in the sun. We all need to enjoy the heat of the summer while it is here
but don't forget to stay hydrated. :)
EXAMPLE: The weather is so nice, let's go swimming and soak up the sun!
3. Beat the heat!
To make yourself cooler or go to a place to stay cool.
EXAMPLE: Let's beat the heat by eating ice cream and drinking smoothies.

時間が無いから…とやっていない方と、隙間時間でドリルを着実に進めている方では、少しずつ差が出てきます。
やった分の力は必ず後から実感できますので、コツコツとドリルで家庭学習を始めましょう！

It is extremely hot outside and students are starting to have their summer vacation.
What's keeping you busy?
Here are some games you can play while learning English!
1. Alphabet Race!
Put home-made alphabet cards around. You can make as many sets as you can. The first person to complete collecting all the letters in the alphabet wins! This game is great with 2 or more players.
2. Think Quick!
Lay down any amount of money (bills) on the table. Make sure it is laid down in 2 straight lines. Highest amount of money should be placed at the end. Ask any random English questions like, "What is the capital of Japan?" or "Give me a fruit that starts with B!" First person to answer gets the money! This game should be played by 2 people.
3. Guess that Word.
Pictures of words should be printed out. Try to find a card to hide the printed pictures. Only show some parts of the picture. Make them guess the name of the picture in English. You can use words from their Amity Textbooks!
