Common English expressions explained
The English language has a few phrases that sound completely different from what they actually mean. For example `bite the bullet` is a common enough phrase and would sound incredibly strange to someone whose a second language learner. The phrase essentially means finally doing something you do not want to do but its usually something you are expected to do. For example, homework, I did not want to do my homework but i bit the bullet and now it's done.

Beaches are beautiful for different reasons. Japan has very beautiful and well maintained beaches that people travel far to visit. In Okinawa Japan, there is a beach called Hoshizuna no Hama. This is an interesting beach that has stars for sand. The stars are skeletons of tiny animals that have long since passed away but have washed up on shore. These little star shaped skeletons are very small and almost unnoticeable at first but upon closer inspection one can make out little five and six point stars. Many tourists delight in collecting the little stars but it is illegal to remove the stars from the beach as this has caused the stars to disappear more quickly than they can be replaced.
The term glass ceiling is the pessimistic view that society sets unrealistic goals and introduces even more unrealistic motivations. If someone states that there is a glass ceiling it means that they have been motivated to do something, that the sky is the limit but have found obstacles that were hidden or not as apparent as they should have been.
The term to once again re-motivate people is `break glass ceilings'. This idea was created once many people lost the will to continue their goals or aspirations after finding out that the sky really isn't the limit and that there are actually more factors involved that go unseen.
It's glass, glass is easily shattered even though it may seem as an unbreakable barrier at first. It's just glass.

If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend the rest of its life thinking it is a failure. Albert Einstein.
People have different strengths and as such should be tested in different ways to get a true idea of their potential. What may work for one child, may not necessarily benefit another. People are unique, some excel at math and science where others may be better suited to literature and others are more talented at working with their hands. And to judge all students by the same standard puts them at quite a disadvantage and can lead to feelings of inadequacy later in life.
Watch scary movies for a better life
Scary movies have a love hate reputation for many people. Some people really enjoy them and even base a lot of their personality on different scary movies while others see it as an impossibility and would never watch scary movies.
Scary movies have been known to actually help burn calories. When you watch a really good scary movie is common to have an accelerated heart rate which can lead to sweating and overall weight loss. Isn`t that insane? That watching a scary movie can impact you so much. Of course this is only common in some people and the greater majority of people are very unbothered when it comes to watching these kinds of movies.

Movies like Moana often allow people to learn about the deeper meaning to customs of different cultures. Take, for example, tattoos in the movie. The demi- god Mowi has tattoos covering his entire body and each one is an account of a different event in his life. The character is based of a rich Islander tradition where both men and women subject themselves to long painful hours of tattooing in order to preserve their life stories on their skin.
Each line and symbol has a different meaning and provides a retelling of specific events that happen in their lives. In most of the world tattoos are seen as unprofessional, unsightly and a symbol of danger. But to Islanders, Polynesians and Hawaiians tattoos are a way to proudly display both their cultures and their life stories.

Going outside and catching some sun. Sunlight, unprotected and in large amounts can cause issues but in small amounts over periods of time help introduce Vitamin D into your body. This can also help improve your moody and get rid of pesky seasonal depression.
