外国人教師との幼児クラスは、体を動かしながら英語を発話するとっても楽しいレッスンです🌟

Last week we learned that English poetry uses rhymes, so now let’s learn a bit more about that.

What are some words that rhyme with cat and hat? Maybe you found some of your own, but here are some other words: sat, rat, chat, and splat. All of these words end with the letters, “at”. Words that end in the same letters usually rhyme, because usually these letters will make the same sounds every time.

But now that we have some words that rhyme, what do we do?

In English poetry, we usually put the rhyming word at the end of a line, and each line is like a sentence. For example, using “cat” and “hat”, we might say:

Over there I see a cat,
And it is wearing a hat.

That’s not a very good poem, but it might be the start to a better one. Can you think of lines using words that rhyme with “hat” or “cat”? If you need some help, consider using some of the words I mentioned before: rat, sat, chat, or splat.

Happy first Friday of the new school year Amity Family!!
I was quite surprised to discover that the word for Lion in Japanese is `shishi` (獅子)
And the number four is `shi` (し)
This creates a really fun word play for us today, as it is Lion`s Day!

Interestingly, `shishi` means scary animal in my 2nd native language ( SiSwati)
Which perfectly fits the description of a lion :)
The concept of language is a very interesting thing.
