「先生！今日学校でインタで勉強したのを習いました！アミティーでやってたので、わかりました！」
「おぉ、素晴らしい！学校で何を学びましたか？」
「分数の足し算です！」
そうです、アミティーのインタのクラスで、通分や、分数の足し算や引き算を学習しました。
もちろん、分数の発話の仕方だけでなく、計算の仕方も英語で学びます。
英語以外の授業でもアミティーの学習が活きたんです。
こういった形でも、学習に自信を持ってくれて、とても頼もしく感じました。
アミティーのインタの教材では英語は当然、計算をおこなったり、地図を読んだり、パズルを解いたり、
いろんな楽しみ方ができる、たくさんの学びがあるクラスです☆
Little by Little, Word by Word
On Saturday one of our newest students spoke English aloud for the first time separately from the group. This was a huge first step into being comfortable in a new language, and it is so rewarding to see how quickly our students become comfortable in the Amity classroom. ~ Leah Sensei
日本語で「あめ」と聞くと何を思い浮かべますか？
空から降ってくる雨？ 甘くておいしい飴？
英語にも多義語があります。
インタラクティブで使用しているI Spyというのソフトの中で
a bat という言葉が出てきました。
そこで、生徒の一人から、「どっちのbat?」と質問がありました。
この子は、野球のバットか、コウモリで悩んでいたんです。
語彙がしっかり定着していたからこその疑問でしたね。
Directions and A+ Reviews!
It`s a great day here at Yonago Amity, where our P6 student's are mastering their direction giving, no maps needed! Also, the Japanese classes have been set on fire as we review course content. All we can say is well done Yonago Amity!

Yesterday was Valentine's Day, and many of our students told us that they received chocolates from their family members. This is a holiday celebrated both in Japan and in many countries abroad, and universal lessons about love and kindness are always important in a classroom setting, too. I hope today's students know they are cared for here at Amity as well as at home and at school!

Today, one of our P5 students was able to flourish past their shell and blossom. We are very proud that they were able to feel safe enough to speak up and enjoy the lesson with us fully.

Today two of our newest students took strides forward in class. For every student, progress looks different, and for students who are brand new to English, it takes time to build confidence. But the first step is trying and participating, and even beginners learn quickly in a supportive environment! I know these new students will thrive in the long run. ~ Leah Sensei
Today via live feed, we had a visiting student all the way from Kamiya-cho! It`s always good to meet new friends whether in person or online. Hopefully we will be able to meet even more students, either those who are currently in Amity or those to come in the future. Please know we can`t wait to meet you!

This week many students are celebrating their triumphant Eiken test results! Many of our students passed their challenging exams, and even those who did not pass have shown a lot of tenacity and improvement. Students should be proud of their efforts, and we will help them learn even more!
