Today, two of our P1 students were able to get through their classes without their parents. That's a big step for them as they prepare to enter P2 next month. We are very proud!

Throwing Beans In February
February 3rd marked a holiday tradition unique to Japan: chasing away an oni for Setsubun. While many countries celebrate the division between seasons, few of them do it in such a unique way! Apparently, people have been throwing beans into the air for a thousand years. What new traditions will this generation create in the future? Only time will tell. - Leah Sensei
A lot of rain and a lot of promise!
Today one of our baby students was able to remember and say the word tunnel! We are so very proud of our students and look forward to watching them grown continually. Also the snow has almost completely melted and the rain has arrived.

New Students, New Opportunities
Today another new, young student joined Amity! Although she was shy, with encouragement and kindness she gradually became more comfortable. I am glad to say we can provide such a comforting environment to students of all temperaments! - Leah Sensei

Cold Weather, New Students!
Yesterday two more students joined our family at Yonago Amity! It is great to know that no matter the weather, new families are determined to take chances at a new school. We hope that as winter becomes spring, even more students will join us here!

This week Tottori prefecture experienced two days straight of snowfall, followed by a day of icy rain! Amity staff in Yonago spent a lot of time shoveling the parking lot, and students and parents spent just as much time shoveling at their homes.
Despite the snowfall, most students did not cancel lessons, but arrived on time or took hybrid lessons. Our students are tenacious and determined to keep learning, rain, snow or shine. It is humbling to see!

Students and teachers have been happy to reunite this week after our holiday break. It seems everyone had a relaxing holiday, apart from students who are studying hard for exams this week.
