The exams are a piece of cake. I went to all of the classes, took great notes and studied already. I am taking a break. Besides, this test will be multiple choice, so there is nothing to worry about. Dad: "If you say so."

For our senior high school lesson students have been talking about heirlooms. Heirlooms are items that have been passed on from parent to child. Most students did not have an heirloom because once an item became old then it was thrown out. It seems that attachment to items are very rare here.

The meaning: You are just as bad as me!
Scenario: Why don't you ever clean up this mess! There are things everywhere! I don't like a messy house, the wife said to her husband. "It takes one to know one", the husband exclaimed. What do you mean asked theh wife. Well, the husband retorted, your clothes are everywhere! Why don't you try picking them up before asking me to pick my things up. That would make a lot of sense now wouldn't it!

9/23は秋分の日。まだまだ暑い日が続いていますが、暦の上ではもう秋なんですね。
英語で「秋」といえば、fall と autumn です。
この２つ、違いがわかりますか？
fall は、アメリカ英語です。落ち葉🍂「fall of the leaf」から来ていると言われています。
autumn は、イギリス英語です。フランス語で「秋」という意味なのですが、それを英語でも同じように使います。
ただ、アメリカでも autumn を使うことはあります。フォーマルな時にはこちらを使う方が多いようです。
アミティーではアメリカ英語を採用しているので、fallで学習をしますがどちらも覚えておきましょうね🎵
