At amity, for our younger students, we have just finished learning how to count animals and bugs! We learned the numbers 1 through 12, and animal names like sheep, pig, and horse. We also learned the names of different bugs such as beetle, spider, and fly.
Our students have been practicing the sentences below;
"How many horses are there?" "11 pigs."
"Are there 11 spiders?" "Yes!"
You can use these phrases outside with your child! How many cicadas can you find?
今週の３才児クラスでは、動物や虫の数え方を学習しました！1から12までの数字と、羊、豚、馬といった動物の名前の組み合わせです。
また、カブトムシ、クモ、ハエといった様々な虫の名前も楽しんでいました！

In September our 3 to 4 year olds, will learn to ask what food someone likes. They will learn vocabulary for different foods like juice and sandwiches. Students will learn the question "Do you like juice?" and to answer "Yes, I do" or "No, I don`t".

9月の年少さんクラスは、好きな食べ物について尋ねる練習をします。ジュースやサンドイッチなど、様々な食べ物を表す語彙を学びます。「ジュースは好きですか？」という質問と、「はい、好きです」または「いいえ、好きではありません」という答え方を学びます。好きな食べ物はありますか？英語でそれについて話しましょう！

Big and Red or Little and Red?
In our 2-3 years old class in September, we will learn about size and color! We are will learn the sentence "Is this a big red tomato?" , "No, it`s a little red tomato." Students are also going to practice the names of different vegetables like cucumber ,carrot, and potato! Let`s speak English next time you go grocery shopping!
9月の2-3才クラスでは、大きさと色について学んでいきます！「これは大きな赤いトマトですか？」「いいえ、小さな赤いトマトです」という文を学習しています。生徒たちは、きゅうり、にんじん、じゃがいもなど、さまざまな野菜の名前も練習しています！次にスーパーに行くときは、英語で話しましょう！

I heard that Japanese elementary school children should complete a summer project over their summer vacation. It can be a poster, a fact file, a model or many other kinds of creative project. Back in the UK we don`t have that kind of summer project, so it is very interesting to me.
I saw students who made posters about their favorite baseball players, fact files about the many kinds of beetles and bugs we can find in Japanese summer, and even a student who introduced some English vocabulary to their friends at school.
