Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all of you! ^^
🥳
If you are reading this, welcome to 2025! Woohoo!
New Years is a time of celebration all around the world, and it is no different in the UK.
🎇A lot of people work on New Years Eve, so we always look forward to a festive party at home or somewhere with friends. We gather together with our loved ones, eating lots of finger foods, playing board games, card games, listening to music and getting ready to count down to midnight.
London has some of the best New Year light shows, fireworks and street parties that you can find.
If you can't go there in person, then we usually watch it on TV during our parties at home.
🎡 We shout the big countdown "TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN, SIX, FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE, HAPPY NEW YEAR!".
London's skies will fill up with lights, fireworks will shoot up from boats on the River Thames and our large wheel, the London Eye, will shine bright and shoot more fireworks. The Big Ben bell in London will chime and DING DONG through the city as everyone cheers 🔔 It is common for us all to give a kiss to someone we love at midnight, to give luck and fortune for year.
🌟 On New Years Day, January 1st, each area of the UK likes to do something a little different.
Some areas like to go swimming in the sea, some like to go walking through the forest, some areas will go bird watching, and sometimes you might even see people doing a triathlon on New Years Day!
