日曜日に英検を受検されたみなさん、いつもの力がしっかり出せましたか？本日午後には英検ホームページで解答速報が出ています。特に３級以上を受験された皆さんは、自己採点をして、早めに２次試験準備を行っていきましょう。
また次回６月英検を目標にがんばるお友達も募集しています。追いかける目標、一緒に頑張るお友達がいることで、英語学習に向かう意欲がさらに向上してきます。

What Is This? What Are These?
This week our P1 students are learning when to use "what is this?" and "what are these?"
We use "what is this?" to ask about a singular (1) thing.
For example: "What is this" → "A dog." 🐶
We use "what are these?" to ask about plural (2+) things.
For example: "What are these?" → "Dogs." 🐶🐶
Usually, when using the plural form, we add an "s" at the end of words.
You can easily practice this question and answer pattern at home!

先日、2人の中学生から英語で困っている人を助けた！と教えてくれました。
1人は違う駅で降りてしまった外国人に駅までの行き方を教え、1人は駅でチケットの購入で困っている外国人に購入方法を教えたそうです。
2人とも「アミティーで学んだ英会話が役に立った！」と嬉しそうに報告してくれました(^^)
これからもたくさんアミティーで英語を話して使える英語を身につけましょう！

How Did You Spend Winter Vacation?
This week our P5 students are learning how to talk about what they did during vacation.
Q: "How did you spend your summer vacation?"
A: "I spent it at the beach."🏖
This question can also be changed to ask about winter vacation or any holiday!
You can also answer in many different ways, using a location or a verb:
"I spent it at my grandparents house."🏠
"I spent it traveling."✈
"I spent it doing homework."✏📖

Almost the end of the Holiday~
Hello! How did your holiday go? It's almost time to go back to school. Are you ready?
This year, make sure to set your goals so you can have a target. It is going to be easier to get better when you have goals that you would like to achieve.
Here are some examples of goals you can set for 2024:
1. Get better at reading. (Practice reading 2-3 pages of English books each day!)
2. Pass the Eiken test. (Learn 10 vocabulary everyday, practice listening and reading)
3. Speak English better (Make sure to speak a lot of English in class or at the lobby at Amity)
These are only some examples of what you can do. Let's try to achieve our goals in 2024!
