In our P2 classes this week are are working on Unit 1 Lesson 1 of the Building Blocks D textbook! This lesson is focused on learning about fruit!

We are learning the following fruits: a plum, a strawberry, a pineapple, a pear, and a lemon.

We are learning a nice simple set phrase of: What's this? It's a plum. A nice easy way to start the new semester!

今週のP2クラスでは、Building Blocks Dテキストのユニット1レッスン1に取り組んでいます！このレッスンでは果物について学びます！

学習する果物は以下の通りです：プラム、イチゴ、パイナップル、ナシ、レモン。

簡単な定型句も学びます：『What's this? It's a plum.』 新学期を始めるのにぴったりの簡単な表現です！

We are onto the last lesson of unit 5 for our P2 C textbook this week and we are continuing to work on he and she! Using gendered pronouns can be difficult, so let's work hard!

Last week we worked on the sentences: He likes apples. She doesn't like apples.

We use the pronoun, 'He' for boys and 'She' for girls.

This week we are working on a question! Does he/she like bananas? Yes, he/she does. / No, he/she doesn't.

What two jobs does the teacher choose?

In our P4 Unit 5 lessons we covered a lot of prepositions! These can be very tricky to use and remember, so let's review them! In lessons 1 and 2 we worked on the following words: in, on, and under. These words are fairly simple and easier to understand.

Example:

• The flower is on the vase.

In lesson 3, and continuing into this weeks lesson, lesson 4, we learned and worked on the following words: behind, in front of, and next to. These words tend to be a lot trickier to understand.

Example:

• The sofa is in front of the window.

These words are easy to practice at home if you have two small objects that are easy to move around, for example, an eraser and a pencil - the pencil is on the eraser, the pencil is in front of the eraser, the eraser is next to the pencil. Practice at home!

P4ユニット5の授業では、たくさんの前置詞を学びました！これらは使い方も覚え方も非常に難しいので、復習しましょう！レッスン1と2では、以下の単語を扱いました：in（～の中に）、on（～の上に）、under（～の下に）。これらの単語は比較的シンプルで理解しやすいです。

• 花は花瓶の上にあります。

In our P1 classes this week we are learning about different zoo animals! The first two lessons of unit 5 focused on vegetables, as well as size and color. We are continuing to work on the words "big" and "little" for size but now we are focusing on the following zoo animals: monkeys, pandas, giraffes, elephants and zebras! These are fun and easy to practice saying at home!

今週のP1クラスでは、さまざまな動物園の動物について学んでいます！ユニット5の最初の2レッスンでは、野菜や大きさ、色に焦点を当てました。大きさを表す「big（大きい）」と「little（小さい）」の単語の練習を続けていますが、今は次の動物園の動物に集中しています：サル、パンダ、キリン、ゾウ、シマウマ！これらは家で楽しく簡単に練習できます！

In our P5 lessons this week we are working on Unit 5 Lesson 3, in this lesson we are focusing on prepositions! As this unit has been all about different location as well we asking and giving direction, this lesson is focusing on describing the locations. We are working on the following prepositions: next to, across from, behind, and in front of. These can be tricky to use and remember, so be sure to practice these phrases whenever possible!

Examples:

• Where is the police station?


• It is across from the fire station.


• Is the museum next to the train station?


• Yes, it is. / No, it isn't. It's behind the park.

今週のP5の授業では、ユニット5のレッスン3を進めています。このレッスンでは前置詞に焦点を当てています！このユニットでは様々な場所について学び、道順を尋ねたり教えたりする練習もしてきましたが、今回のレッスンでは場所の説明に重点を置いています。以下の前置詞を練習します：next to（～の隣に）、across from（～の向かい側に）、behind（～の後ろに）、in front of（～の前に）。これらの使い分けや覚え方は難しい場合があるので、機会があるたびにこれらのフレーズを練習しましょう！

In the activity, where is the movie theater?

In our P5 lessons this week we are working on Unit 5 Lesson 2. This lesson focuses on asking for and giving directions.  We learn the directional phrases "Go straight,", "Turn left," and "Turn right," as well at the locations where you turn (at the stop sign, at the cross walk, etc.)

Examples:

A: How do I get to the stationery store?

B: I'm sorry, I don't know.

A: Do you know how to get to the stationery store?

C: Yes, I do. First go straight, then turn left at the traffic light.

The vocabulary and sentence structures from this lesson are incredibly useful in English conversation, so be sure to practice them when you can!

今週のP5の授業では、ユニット5のレッスン2を学習しています。このレッスンでは、道順を尋ねたり教えたりする表現に焦点を当てています。「まっすぐ進む」「左に曲がる」「右に曲がる」といった方向指示のフレーズや、曲がる場所（停止標識で、横断歩道でなど）を学びます。

例：

A: 文房具店への行き方を教えていただけますか？

B: 申し訳ありませんが、分かりません。

A: 文房具店への行き方をご存知ですか？

C: はい、分かります。まず真っ直ぐ進み、信号で左折してください。

このレッスンの語彙と文型は英語会話で非常に役立ちますので、機会があれば必ず練習してください！
