今週のレッスンで小学生のクラスでは、What is this/that?を通して、
It's a ○○.もしくは、It's ○○.と、a/anがつくのか、つかないのかを学習しています。

文法として、可算名詞、不可算名詞を学ぶのは中学1年生ですね。

しかし、アミティー生は会話を通して、小学１年生から当たり前のように学んでいきます。
そして、後から文法を学習し、仕組みを知るのです。

そうすることで、海外で英語を学ぶ子供たちと同様の理解を得ることが出来ます。

小学生の時点で、まだちゃんとわかっていない、と心配になる必要はありません。

先週より、前期カウンセリングが始まりました。

本日お越しいただいた保護者の方は、高校２年生の生徒のお母様でした。
レッスンのご様子や今後の目標についてお話をしていると、こんなうれしいお話が聞けました✨

中学２年生で英検２級を取得していたその子は、高校受験時には面接で2級まで取得していたことが功を奏して、
英語学習を頑張ってきたことをアピールし、そこが評価され無事入学が出来たこと。
今年度８月にアイルランドへの留学を控えていますが、その奨学金もTOEIC600点を持っていいたために、援助額が増えたこと。

これまでこの生徒さんがコツコツと頑張って英語学習をしてくれたことが、いろんな場面で生徒さんを助けていたことがうれしいです😢✨

You probably order fast food at cafes and restaraunts before but have you done it in English?

When ordering you say the number of how many you want, then the item. Then of course we say please to be polite.

Here's an example.

 

Employee: What would you like to order?

 

Customer: Can I have a cheeseburger? /  one cheeseburger please.

 

E: Anything else? / Would you like to make it a meal? / Would you like anything to drink?

 

C: No that’s everything or Yes, One small fry./ Yes please or No thank you / Yes one medium milkshake please or No thank you.

 

E: Your total is $$$

I told you what you would need to make a reservation, here's what that would look like.

Employee: Hello. Amity Restaurant. How may I help you?

Customer: Hi. I would like to make a reservation please.

E: Okay, no problem. What day would you like to make the reservation for?

C: date & time Next Tuesday at 7pm Please.

E: Okay, and how many people are in your party?

C: There will be 9 of us.

E: Okay, please wait while I check our schedule. ----- I’m sorry, 7 is not available but we have an opening at 8. Will that work?

C: Sorry, we have plans at 9 so that would be too late. DO you have anything earlier?

E: Okay no problem, we have a slot open at 6pm. Will that work for you?

C: Yes that’s perfect!

E: Great! 9 people at 6pm next Tuesday. What name will the reservation be under?

C: Please use name

E: Perfect, your reservation is set. Can I help you with anything else?

C: No thank you.

E: Of course, have a great day.

Do you know how to make a reservation?

When you want to go to a restaurant sometimes they are very popular so it's hard to eat there.

If that happens you need to make a reservation.

To make the reservation please call the restaurant and tell them "I'd like to make a reservation.

You have to tell them how many people will be coming and what day and time you want to be there.
