Which word in the English language has the most meanings?
Answer: The word “set” has more definitions than any other word in the English language.
The Oxford English Dictionary (OED) lists 65 different definitions for the word “set” as a noun (out of which 17 are labeled obsolete). On top of that, the same word can also be used as a verb.

English is the Language of the Skies
In the world of aviation, speaking English is non-negotiable. Whether you're a pilot soaring through clouds, a flight attendant ensuring passenger safety, or an air traffic controller orchestrating the movement of planes, you've got to be fluent. But why?
Since 2008, it's been the law. All communication up there, from takeoff to touchdown, happens exclusively in English. But here's the thing: this wasn't always the case.
Even before 2008, English was kind of like the secret code of the skies. Pilots chatted in it, air traffic controllers directed traffic with it — it was the language of the cockpit. But it took some serious accidents to make it official.
Back then, tragic incidents showed how misunderstandings due to language barriers could lead to disasters. So, to keep everyone safe, the aviation bigwigs made it a rule: English only, up in the air.
