The textiles industry in Ichinomiya city is said to have prospered thanks to the grace of a textile god. Each year, the Textile Thanksgiving Ichinomiya Tanabata Star Festival is celebrated for four days, starting from the Thursday before the last Sunday of July. This timing aligns with the Altair constellation and the Chinese myth of Zhinü, both connected to textiles.

During the festival, visitors can enjoy various attractions, such as the Clothing Dedication Parade, where wool fabrics are offered to Hatori Jinja Shrine, an auxiliary shrine of Masumida Jinja Shrine.

This year the festival will take place from July 25, 2024 to July 28, 2024.

In July, schools in Japan and the Philippines showcase distinct cultural and educational activities reflective of their unique traditions and values. In Japan, schools typically gear up for the end of the academic year, marked by cultural festivals known as "bunkasai." These festivals feature student performances, exhibitions, and food stalls, celebrating Japanese arts and culture while fostering community spirit.

Conversely, Philippine schools in July emphasize Nutrition Month and Buwan ng Wika (National Language Month). Students engage in activities promoting healthy lifestyles through cooking demonstrations and seminars, alongside celebrations of Filipino language and heritage through poetry recitals and traditional performances.

Despite the geographical and cultural differences, both countries use July as a pivotal month for community engagement, cultural enrichment, and academic preparation, setting the stage for a vibrant and enriching educational experience.

Spanish speakers might use lots of gestures and emotional expressions, while German speakers might focus on being clear and structured (Wierzbicka, 1997). These language habits can change how we interact with people and even how we see ourselves (Baker, 2006). So next time you switch languages, notice how your personality might change. It’s a fun way to see how our words can shape who we are.

July in the Philippines offers families a wonderful array of activities to enjoy together, blending cultural exploration with outdoor adventures. From exploring local festivals like the Higalaay Festival in Cagayan de Oro or the Kadayawan Festival pre-events in Davao City, to participating in community events celebrating Nutrition Month, there's something for everyone.

Families can also take advantage of the school break for bonding activities such as visiting Manila Ocean Park, where they can marvel at marine life and enjoy interactive shows. For those who prefer indoor activities, shopping excursions to bustling malls like SM Mall of Asia offer a mix of retail therapy and entertainment.

Whether discovering cultural heritage or simply relaxing together, July in the Philippines provides ample opportunities for families to create lasting memories and strengthen their bonds.
