Today we will talk about parents and children learning English together!
The children that make the fastest improvements in all areas of English are the children who have parents that know English. This is mainly due to motivation! Children often model themselves after other people and the parents are usually the ones that children will model behaviours after first! This is why it is important for parents to know and understand English.
If a child is expected to study English and try their best by their parents then when they struggle they might ask themselves why their parents don`t know English. They might think to themselves "If English is important then why doesn`t mommy or daddy know English? Why do I have to learn English when THEY don`t even know it". The children that perform the best in English have parents that speak and understand English.
So let`s practice together.
If children see their parents study English and attempt to speak or understand it then English becomes more important in their minds. "If mommy and daddy are studying English this hard then it must be important" they might think to themselves. Children learn more at home than at school and the more involved the parents are in their childrens at home learning them more progress the children will make.
Let us work together with our children at home so that they can have the best future in English! Let`s have fun learning English together with our kids!
