Did you know October has it's own flower? Its called the Calendula. It symbolizes comfort, healing, protection and grace.

Did you know October used to be the eighth month before January and February were added to the calendar? That's why it starts with Octo- the roman word for 8.

October is the first month where fall feels like fall. What will you be doing to kick off your autumn season? Nokonoshima Island is a great spot to visit and view the Cosmo Flowers!

The Nakasu Festival comes around in October filled with many fun competitions.

And of course theres Oktober fest! Its held around reisen park. If you don't know what Oktober fest is you should go and enjoy a German cultural experience!

Do you like going to Parks? Maybe you like to walk along the trail or maybe you like to people watch. Whatever your reason, fall is a great time to enjoy the park scenery with all the changing colours of the leaves and the cool temperatures.

In fukuoka these are the best viewing places according to the masses:

Maizuru park, yusentei park, raizan sennyoji daihion temple, akizuki castle, kamado shrine, kokura castle, hikosan shrine, and Shiranoe Botanical Park.

Do you like sweet potato? In America sweet potato is only really thought of around thanks giving when we make yams which are essentially, candied sweet potato's.

Tokyo has a sweet potato festival every year in Tokyo. Have you ever been? The festival, Shinagawa Yakiimo Terrace was invented to show people all the different types of sweet potato's, sweet, mild, purple, yellow and all.

Some of the things they offer at the festival are tempura sweet potatos, sweet potato crepes, purple sweet potato latte, fried honeyed sweet potato sticks, and the rare mitsuhime sweet potato only grown in Wakayama, Kushimo which they make a variety of ways, their most popular being a sweet potato koroke.
